OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE: Lively worship and to proclaim God's inclusive love for all ???
As most of you are aware, we have been unable to live up to our mission statement when it comes to providing a place of worship and services for all God's physically challenged children.
Now, I am asking all of us to please spread the word and join us for HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE WORSHIP every 3rd Sunday at 11 am beginning Sept. 18, 2011 at the Clarion Hotel, 53rd & Brady Streets, Davenport.
Yes, your Pastor and the Board of Directors are asking your help in trying this once-a-month solution in meeting at the Clarion instead of at our church building on Harrison Street.
We have over a month to spread the word. Let's make this an MCC QC traditional over-the-top FUN celebration. We are doing this on a trial basis for Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec.
Below are some Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What will this cost MCC QC?
A: $125/mo. We are looking for 4 "Special Angels" who would each make a one-time $125 donation in addition to their regular giving to MCC QC. If you are able and so moved, please mail in your check or put it in the offering plate on Sunday -- please mark it "Clarion."
Q: What about 1st time visitors who come to the Harrison Street building on 3rd Sun.?
A: In addition to spreading the word via email, facebook and on Sunday Mornings, we will post a large sign on the parking lot door clearly indicating that on 3rd Sundays MCC QC meets at the Clarion, with the address listed. We will also be posting a live "scout" volunteer at Harrison Street from 10:30 until 10:55 am to personal talk to and redirect persons to the Clarion.
Q: What if it just doesn't work?
A: At least we can say that we tried. With your help and prayers, I think it will be a great success.
Please pray with me: Holy One, thank you for the opportunity to worship at an alternate space once-a-month to be inclusive of our physically challenged brothers and sisters. May your blessings be upon our community and upon our worship services as we seek to be your people doing your will. AMEN.
